The first matches for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom are in the works, with AEW’s MJF doubling down on his challenge to Ryohei Oiwa. Having called him out once before, MJF made his challenge more explicit, demanding a match at the Tokyo Dome.
After Oiwa and Hartley Jackson gained the win in tag action against AEW’s The Swirl, the lights went out and a video played on the big screen. MJF appeared, challenging Oiwa to a bout at the Tokyo Dome, promising to beat him with a headlock takeover.
Oiwa was quick to reply, saying:
This is my second video message. They say a weak dog barks the loudest—and that’s MJF! I’m gonna take down MJF at the Tokyo Dome with a headlock—no, with my Big Lock! MJF, don’t you dare mess with New Japan Pro Wrestling!
Once he reached the backstage area, Oiwa added to his comments on MJF:
MJF, what’s this about using GRIP and SWORD to commit seppuku? It looks like you’ve sent me fan letters twice in such a short time. Just how much do you like me? But you know, both times you really tore New Japan Pro Wrestling to shreds. So, as Big Lock, I’m going to take down MJF at the Tokyo Dome.
