Daisy Monkey Stand Tall at Final TJPW Event in Shinjuku FACE

TJPW held their final event in Shinjuku FACE, giving the venue a big send off before its closure at the end of the month. In the main event, Daisy Monkey teamed up to score a huge win over their upcoming opponents at TJPW Wrestle Princess VII.

At the farewell event, named I Won’t Cry, There Is No Way I Will Cry, Arisu Endo and Suzume faced off against Miyu Yamashita and Yuki Arai. On October 3rd, Endo will challenge Yamashita for the Pro Wrestling EVE International Championship, while Suzume will challenge Yuki Arai for the Princess of Princess Championship.

While Yamashita and Arai put up a good fight, doing their best to fight off their upcoming challengers, Daisy Monkey’s tag team chemistry proved to be just too much to contend with. A miscommunication saw Yamashita nail Arai with a high roundhouse, setting Suzume up to land the Ring a Bell cutter on the champion.

After the bout, the locker room emptied to join the main eventers in the ring. Yamashita took the microphone to address the crowd in Shinjuku FACE:

Today’s Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling event at Shinjuku FACE is our last one here. For us at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, Shinjuku FACE was the first major goal we set ourselves. When we first performed here, we didn’t have nearly as many teammates, nor were there nearly as many spectators… But as time went round and round, and we built up our experience bit by bit, we’ve reached a point where we’re selling out shows like this and attracting so many spectators, whilst our ranks have grown. I truly believe that it’s thanks to Shinjuku FACE that we at Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling have been able to grow to where we are today. I’m truly sad to see Shinjuku FACE go, but all the experiences and time we’ve spent on this ring will remain with us forever. We’ll turn the strength we’ve gained here into something even greater and continue to forge ahead with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. To everyone at Shinjuku FACE, thank you so much!

Speaking backstage, Daisy Monkey were filled with confidence as they move on to TJPW Wrestle Princess VII.

Suzume:

The final warm-up match, and our last show at Shinjuku FACE. I’m absolutely, absolutely delighted to have been able to finish off with a victory in the main event like this. And, as expected, I’ve really come to feel just how strong Yuki-chan is—to the point of being almost overwhelming. I’d been wondering whether it might actually be difficult to find my own path to victory, but I feel as though all the pieces I’ve gathered are finally falling into place. I can see the path to victory now!

Endo:

That’s exactly right! As both Yamashita-san and I have said, it’s not enough to just enjoy yourself. To be honest, I found myself thinking I was having a massive amount of fun during the match with Yamashita-san. But I’m going to make sure I properly defeat Yamashita-san and claim that belt. Let’s hold them together, shall we?

Suzume:

Let’s become champions together.

Endo:

I want to give Yamashita even more chills, so I’ve been thinking about her a lot—I’ve actually decided to become a living spirit, send that spirit her way, and give her the creeps in every sense of the word.

Meanwhile, the loss in Shinjuku FACE made Yamashita and Arai determined to improve.

Arai:

I’d been in good form in my own way during the run-up to this match. It’s really frustrating that I lost so decisively in the final warm-up bout… Yes, it happened at the last Shinjuku FACE event too, so it’s a huge shock. But there’s no time to mope about now; I’ve learnt a lot from Suzume today. I’ve realised all too well that I can’t carry on as I am, so I intend to discover and bring out an even stronger Arai, and step into the ring in Ota Ward as the strongest, most feared and most formidable champion.

Yamashita:

I’ve been in preliminary bouts with Arisu. Every time we fight, I think she’s a really interesting opponent. And with every bout, I get to see more and more of Arisu’s fearsome side. Although I’m incredibly frustrated that I lost today, there were moments where she really had the better of me. It’s frustrating, but whilst taking that on board, I’ve realised once again that I’m really looking forward to the title match against Arisu.
