Unagi Sayaka Sets a Goal to Host the First Independent Pro-Wrestling Show at the Tokyo Dome as Her Latest Event Sells Out

On Sept. 2nd, freelance star Unagi Sayaka turned 40 years old and she celebrated by competing in three matches on her self-produced event “THE LORD IS MAD ~ SAYAKA UNAGI 40 YEARS OLD AND STILL NOBODY’S PROPERTY”. The event was a sell out and took place at Tokyo LaQua Garden Stage.

Her 40th birthday celebration was spoiled as Sayaka was on the losing side of all three bouts she participated in at her self-produced event.

In the main event, NJPW star Taiji Ishimori teamed with Rina Yamashita as they defeated Sayaka and her partner Minoru Suzuki in a hard fought evenly matched bout.

In addition, Kiku Miyamoto, Dahlia Abe, Anabel Mogami , Veronica Ueki & Kurumi Tateba Shakuyaku defeated Sayaka, Ayame Sasamura, Kakeru Sekiguchi, Misa Kagura & Hikari Noa and in a singles bout Sayaka lost to Andreza the Giant Panda.

After the main event, Sayaka was presented with a Tokyo Dome shaped cake to celebrate her 40 year milestone. Sayaka then addressed the crowd, as reported by Tokyo Sports, and revealed she has a goal of holding the first ever independent pro-wrestling event at the Tokyo Dome.

From Unagi Sayaka:

“My goal is to host my own show at the Tokyo Dome! I’m nowhere near that yet, but if everyone gathers together like they did today, I believe I’ll definitely be able to do it someday.”

Unagi Sayaka has quite an ambitious nature to set a goal of bringing the first independent event to the Tokyo Dome which has a capacity for 57,000 fans.

Most fans and critics will most likely feel Sayaka would not be able to pull off such a feat. There is one person who definitely believes that she can do it and her name is Unagi Sayaka. Truthfully, that’s all that really matters.

• Aja Kong, Hiroyo Matsumoto & Ryo Mizunami Defeat Cohaku, Haruka Umesaki & Nanami Hatano (11:23) after a Diving Elbow Drop from Kong against Hatano.
• Dick Togo & Jun Kasai defeat Kuroshio TOKYO Japan & Junjie (9:56) after Kasai’s Pearl Harbor Splash against Junjie.
• Taiji Ishimori & Rina Yamashita defeat Minoru Suzuki & Unagi Sayaka (19:15) after a Splash Mountain of Yamashita against Unagi.
