ZERO1 Provides Update on Masato Tanaka Following a Successful Surgery

By: Ian McCord

On September 1st, Pro Wrestling ZERO1 star Masato Tanaka successfully underwent surgery for bilateral cubital tunnel syndrome.

Following the surgery, ZERO1 posted an update on social media, letting fans know that Tanaka’s procedure was a success. The promotion shared that if all goes well during Tanaka’s post operation recovery, he could return for Megumi Kudo’s 40th Anniversary Event on October 17th.

From ZERO1 via X:

“Masato Tanaka, a wrestler under our company, has successfully completed treatment and surgery (nerve decompression) for ‘bilateral cubital tunnel syndrome.’

While his return to competition will depend on his post-operative recovery, he is currently scheduled to make his comeback at the ‘Megumi Kudo 40th Anniversary Event—The Legend of the Heretic Princess,’ to be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

We sincerely ask for your continued warm support for Masato Tanaka.”

Tanaka also posted an update to his X account, letting fans know that he’s doing just fine following the procedure.

From Masato Tanaka via X:

“Thank you all for your concern. When I had shoulder surgery, I was told to take six months off, so I took exactly six months off. This time, after consulting with my doctor, we decided to go ahead with the surgery since he said it would be okay on that particular day. I’m eating on my own, brushing my teeth by myself, and even typing this message—I’m doing just fine.”

Everyone at Monthly Puroresu wishes Masato Tanaka a full and speedy recovery.
