AJPW Star Ryuki Honda Celebrates His Eighth Year as a Pro-Wrestler

All Japan Pro-Wrestling star Ryuki Honda was in a celebratory mood on Sept. 2nd as the day marked his eighth year as a pro-wrestler.

Honda released a statement on social media to commemorate his 8th anniversary in pro-wrestling and posted a picture of himself when he first started at the age of 18.

Ryuki Honda began his career on Sept. 2nd 2018 for WRESTLE-1. In his very first bout, Honda teamed with Hajime in a losing effort to Masayuki Mitomi & Ryuji Hijikata. Honda competed for WRESTLE-1 until the promotion folded in 2020.

After WRESTLE-1 ceased operations, Honda headed to AJPW where he has competed for the last six years. While in AJPW, Honda realized his full potential and has become a star for the promotion. He is currently one third of the AJPW TV Six Man Tag Team Champions with Kuma Arashi & Seigo Tachibana and is a former AJPW World Tag Team Champion with Shotaro Ashino.

One of the highlights of his career was being part of the first NWA World Title bout inside an AJPW ring in 35 years. Honda unsuccessfully challenged then NWA World Champion EC3 for the title back in May 2024 at AJPW Super Power Series 2024 inside a packed Korakuen Hall.

Honda is gearing up for the upcoming AJPW Oudou Tournament 2026 which begins on Sept. 9th. His first round tournament bout is scheduled for Sept. 12th as he faces one of his AJPW TV Six Man Tag Team Championship partners Kuma Arashi.

Honda has made it to the AJPW Oudou Tournament finals the last three years in a row and has come up short each time. He is hoping that in 2026 he will be able to end that three year losing streak and finally hoist the AJPW Oudou Tournament winners trophy.
