With New Japan Pro-Wrestling re-introducing IMPACT wrestlers back into the fold for the first time since 2011, it was a no-brainer that the current X-Division champion would be one of the initial names that would make the jump and impress the most, entering into this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament.

Right before being slotted into one of professional wrestling’s most prestigious junior heavyweight tournaments, Ace Austin won the X-Division championship in a tremendous three-way match against “Speedball” Mike Bailey and champion Trey Miguel.
Outside of his ventures into New Japan, the Ace of Spades is a three time X-Division champion and has had renowned matches against the likes of former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champion Chris Sabin, Impact World Champion Josh Alexander and the incomparable Christian Cage.

Although it’s early going as of right now, Austin has already had an impressive showing for a one-of-a-kind wrestler in the biggest stage in Japanese wrestling. If his time in Impact is anything to go by – he’s one to watch.
