Chihiro Hashimoto Defeats Syuri to Retain Sendai Girls World Championship, Mika Iwata Steps Up as Next Challenger

Just days after retaining at SENJO THE BIGGEST, Chihiro Hashimoto was defending the Sendai Girls World Championship once again. This time, she was putting the belt on the line against the reigning IWGP Women’s Champion, Syuri.

Syuri herself is fresh off an intense title defence against Natsupoi in the opening night of the STARDOM 5STAR Grand Prix. However, both champions stepped into Korakuen Hall looking to fight with all their might. With Syuri having defeated Hashimoto earlier this year through a referee’s stoppage, Hashimoto also had that mental note to contest with as she defended her title.

Eventually, it was Hashimoto’s raw power that tipped the balance of match onto her side. Just as she had put away VENY at SENJO THE BIGGEST, Hashimoto dumped Syuri high with an Albright suplex and earned the pinfall.

After the bout, Hashimoto’s next challenger materialized. Having won in tag action earlier in the night, Mika Iwata made her way to the ring. Currently one half of the Sendai Girls World Tag Team Champions, Iwata looks to add to her collection of hardware. Iwata laid out the challenge and the match has been made official. Chihiro Hashimoto will face Mika Iwata for the Sendai Girls World Championship on August 28th at THE TOP OF JOSHI WRESTLING in the Yoyogi National 2nd Gymnasium.

Elsewhere on the card, Spike Nishimura made her first defence of her newly won Sendai Girls World Junior Title. She faced off with YUNA, and turned that match into a successful defence. Nishimura planted YUNA into the mat with the Angels Wings to secure the pinfall.
