El Desperado Reflects On The Career Of Retired NJPW Legend Tiger Mask IV

On July 7th, New Japan Pro-Wrestling legend Tiger Mask IV retired from in-ring competition in Japan after a celebrated twenty-one year career. Tiger Mask IV has one more upcoming bout on August 3rd in the USA.

Recently, Monthly Puroresu interviewed another masked wrestler that is on his way to reaching legendary status, El Desperado.

Desperado was asked about Tiger Mask IV retiring from pro-wrestling. He called Tiger Mask IV icon and said he had a hell of a career.

From El Desperado:

“He really has been an icon for NJPW, and it’s been a hell of a career. Trained by the original Tiger Mask, going back to back in BOSJ, all the great matches he’s had with the Mexican legends as well.”

Desperado then jokingly stated that he will be the only masked man left in NJPW with the retirement of Tiger Mask IV:

From El Desperado:

“Time waits for no man, so this day was going to come sometime. But after he retires, I’ll be the only masked man in NJPW, so I’d like someone new to come in, lol.”

El Desperado teamed with Tiger Mask IV back on May 24th as they fell in defeat to Jakob Austin Young & Zane Jay at the NJPW Best Of The Super Junior 33 event.
