Back on June 4th, longtime DragonGate superstar Shun Skywalker made a shocking announcement during the “RAINBOW GATE 2026” event at Korakuen Hall that he will be departing the promotion.
On July 13th, DragonGate held its final event at Shinjuku FACE as the venue is set to close its doors forever later this year. The event was aptly named “DRAGONGATE LAST FACE” and in the featured bout, Shun Skywalker teamed with Dragon Kid, Strong Machine J, Flamita & Diamante as they defeated Madoka Kikuta, KAI, Jason Lee, ISHIN & Yoshiki Kato.
After the match, Skywalker addressed the crowd and announced that his final DragonGate affiliated bout will be on August 4th at Korakuen Hall. He then proceeded to reveal that he wanted his final opponent to be his former PSYPATRA unit teammate Homare.
Homare appeared and confronted Skywalker in the ring letting him know he accepts being his final DragonGate affiliated opponent.
Shun Skywalker has been with DragonGate since 2015 and has developed into one of the greatest superstars for the promotion. He has held multiple titles for DragonGate including the Open The Dream Gate Championship three times.
Skywalker’s name has been attached to New Japan Pro-Wrestling following his DragonGate departure but that remains as only speculation at this point.
