On the NJPW Road to the G1 Climax tour, the last spots in the field are being filled. Two of the remaining four spots were decided in Korakuen Hall, as Yuto-Ice and Aaron Wolf both won their qualifying matches.
Wolf was the first of the two to qualify. Wolf skillfully utilized the reverse triangle choke to force a submission out of YOSHI-HASHI, securing himself a place into B Block. Wolf walks into the block as the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion, which is sure to put a target on his back for those looking to earn a win over a champion in block action. Having debuted back on January 4th at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom, this will be Wolf’s first G1 Climax. Having feuded with the House of Torture since his debut, he is set to face Ren Narita in the block.
Then, Yuto-Ice booked his spot in A Block in the Korakuen Hall main event. He denied Taichi a chance to compete in another G1 Climax. It took a lot to put down Taichi, with a Cruella being the final blow to put him away. Yuto-Ice will come up against one of the men that took the Knockout Brothers’ IWGP Tag Team Championship, the Great-O-Khan. He will also get a chance at the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Yota Tsuji.
