Rossy Ogawa Explains What Led To MIRAI’s Upcoming Return To Marigold

By: Lewis Carlan

On May 23rd, Marigold will present its next big event “MARIGOLD SHINE FOREVER 2026” at the Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.

On the event, MIRAI will be making her return to Marigold and compete in a bout for the first time since Oct. 2025.

MIRAI left Marigold back in Oct. 2025 and eventually signed with Michinoku Pro Wrestling. She is set to participate in the main event as MIRAI teams with Miku Aono & Mai Sakurai and they face the trio of Utami Hayashishita, Takumi Iroha & Maddy Morgan.

The bout will be Hayashishita’s last with Marigold before she departs the promotion and becomes a freelancer.

Marigold owner Rossy Ogawa took to X and explained what led to the return of MIRAI to a Marigold ring.

From Rossy Ogawa:

“We held a press conference for the May 23 Ota Ward Tournament. For the main event, a 6-man tag team match, we brought together the wrestlers who have defined Marigold’s past two years. I happened to exchange messages with MIRAI on LINE, and I suppose that’s what led to her participation. We tried to invite one person from overseas, but our schedules didn’t align. People’s feelings change constantly as time goes by. That’s what makes it interesting.” (English translation via Deepl.com)

MIRAI recently stated that she would be willing to come back and help Marigold due to the amount of injuries the promotion has had lately to its top stars including Mayu Iwatani and Victoria Yuzuki.

There has been no indication that MIRAI will compete for Marigold beyond May 23rd but of course that could change if she and Ogawa can work out an agreement.
