Yoshiki Inamura Shares His Thoughts On Alpha Wolf Ahead Of NOAH’s Apex Conquest On 4/12

On April 12th, Yoshiki Inamura is set to defend the GHC Heavyweight Championship against TEAM 2000X’s Alpha Wolf in the main event of NOAH’s APEX CONQUEST 2026 in NAGOYA.

Current GHC National Champion Alpha Wolf, stepped up as the next challenger for the GHC Heavyweight Championship on March 8th in Yokohama following Inamura’s successful title defense against KENOH.

Alpha Wolf becomes the 4th member of TEAM 2000X to challenge Inamura for the championship so far in 2026, with OZAWA, Masa Kitamiya and Takashi Sugiura all suffering losses to Mr Smack Daddy.

During preview tag action on April 1st in Korakuen Hall, Alpha Wolf, who came to the ring sporting the stolen GHC Heavyweight Championship, was able to pin Inamura after hitting his package piledriver finisher to gain some hefty bragging rights going into his match for the top prize in NOAH.

In an interview with Pro Wrestling NOAH, Inamura was asked his thoughts on Alpha Wolf prior to joining TEAM 2000X. Inamura would state that he believes his challenger has only gotten stronger since joining the heel stable and shared a little insight into Alpha Wolf’s past.

“Personally, I think that his strength, and the basic strength of a luchador that’s present in the current bad Wolf, hasn’t changed at all. I fought Wolf once in the 2024 N-1 before he joined 2000X, and since then he’s gained a lot of experience both domestically and internationally, so I think he’s become even stronger. Plus, his ferocity has increased, so I think he’s become a truly dangerous wrestler. Also, His Father is Canis Lupus (a ring name that means wolf in Mexican), right? Since he was a heel, I think he has some kind of inherited ferocity. The bat he uses was also given to him by His Father, so I can understand why it’s so important to him. Personally, I’d like to see a fight between him and Wolf as pure luchadores.”

Inamura was then asked if there was any possibility of “taming” the Lunatic Wolf, with the champion claiming he intends to approach the match with Alpha Wolf like a strict dog trainer.

“I think I’ll have to give him some tough education on this. I think Wolf’s current style suits him really well and looks cool. There’s no need to force him to change, but when it comes to his attitude towards the belt and his attitude towards fighting for the GHC, I want to guide him in this fight not so much as “taming” him, but more like a strict “dog trainer.” Like dogs, wolves have an instinct that the one with their head held high at the end, the one looking down from above, is superior. In the end, whether it’s Musou or DIS CHARGE, I want to crush him and make him understand that I’m the one with the head held high.”

This will be Inamura’s 6th defense of the GHC Heavyweight Championship since winning it back in November from KENTA.
