Mayu Iwatani Retains GHC Women’s & Marigold Superfly Titles Against Natsumi Showzuki

On Mar. 28th, Marigold took it’s SPRING VICTORY SERIES 2026 to Shinjuku FACE with a crowd of 355 fans on hand for the event.

The featured bout was a double title defense for Mayu Iwatani as she put her GHC Women’s & Marigold Superfly Titles on the line against the challenge of Natsumi Showzuki.

Showzuki was the inaugural Marigold Superfly Champion and was looking to regain that title as well as win the GHC Women’s Title for the first time. Unfortunately for Showzuki, to accomplish her desired goals, she would have to defeat the “Icon” Mayu Iwatani which is a very difficult task.

The rules of the bout was Showzuki had a 15 minute time limit to win the Marigold Superfly Title and a 1 hour time limit to win the GHC Women’s Championship. If the match went past the 15 minute mark then Superfly Title would no longer be on the line for the remainder of the match.

Despite a valiant effort from Showzuki, it was Iwatani who was able to secure another victory after hitting two consecutive top rope moonsaults onto her challenger which ended the match at the 16:15 mark.

This was Iwatani’s third successful defense of the GHC Women’s Title and seventh successful defense of the Marigold Superfly Championship. She has held the Superfly Title for nearly a year and appears likely to reach that 1 year milestone as champion.

In other action, Misa Matsui defeated Nao Ishikawa in the opener. Matsui has now won six straight singles matches which should catapult her back in title opportunity contention.

• Megaton, Maddy Morgan & Angel Hayze defeated Utami Hayashishita, Kouki Amarei & Hummingbird (12:03) after a Moonsault Press by Morgan against Hummingbird.
• Syoko Koshino 7 Match Trial Series 5th: Chika Goto defeated Syoko Koshino (11:57) with the I am Gochika.
• Special Six Woman Tag Match: Miku Aono, Mai Sakurai & Mayumi Ozaki defeated Nagisa Nozaki, CHIAKI & Rea Seto (19:40) after a buzzsaw kick by Aono against Seto.
• GHC Women’s Title & Marigold Super Flyweight Title: Mayu Iwatani (c) defeated Natsumi Showzuki (16:15) with a moonsault press (GHC 3rd & Flyweight 7th defense).
