TJPW Texas Stampede Finishes Strong in Houston with Sold Out Crowd

TJPW Texas Stampede came to an end at the Houston Post. A sold out crowd was in attendance for the joshi promotion’s final event on this successful American tour, and the last stop before TJPW GRAND PRINCESS.

Sakura Hattori rounds off her Texas tour undefeated. Hattori racked up her fourth singles win under her new moniker, defeating Mifu Ashida. This winning streak is sure to be a major boost as Hattori heads into TJPW GRAND PRINCESS, where she will take part in the battle royale for the DDT Iron Man Heavy Metal Weight Title.

The reigning Princess Tag Team Champions Ober Eats also added another W to their record. With their title defence against The IInspiration looming, Yuki Kamifuku and Wakana Uehara took on Miyu Yamashita and Kaylia Capri in Houston. Uehara’s Banana Pillow was the nail in the coffin for Yamashita and Capri, with Capri submitting to the submission hold. Ober Eats now head into TJPW GRAND PRINCESS on a run of 17 straight victories as a duo, a stat that is sure to put them in good stead against the incoming Australian opposition.

Yuki Arai also built some momentum as a singles competitor in Houston, as she defeated Pom Harajuku. It was anything but a straightforward win for Arai, with cardboard cutouts, a gacha machine and Arai’s stolen house keys all featuring in the match.

The Princess of Princess Champion, Miu Watanabe also leaves Texas on a high note. In the main event, was a stacked trios match to end the tour with a bang. Watanabe teamed with Rika Tatsumi and Arisu Endo to take on Shoko Nakajima, Mizuki and Uta Takami. Watanabe secured the win for her team, with a combined Laser Beam and Tear Drop putting Takami down for the 3-count.

As the top champion, Watanabe led the travelling roster in thanking and saying goodbye to the Texas fans, assuring them that TJPW will be back in the lone star state.

TJPW GRAND PRINCESS takes place on March 28th in the Ryogoku Kokugikan. TJPW will also be back stateside for TJPW Live in Las Vegas on April 16th.
