DDT Pro-Wrestling held an emergency press conference today on Youtube in which long time superstar Kazusada Higuchi was the focal point of.
It was announced that Higuchi will officially retire from the world of professional wrestling. It was explained that during a recent routine health examination that was conducted by DDT Pro, it was discovered that Higuchi has a subluxation of the first and second cervical vertebrae. The doctor who issued the diagnosis determined that continuing in a contact sport such as pro-wrestling would be too dangerous for Higuchi.
Higuchi, his doctor and DDT Pro had discussed the possibility of him continuing his pro-wrestling career but they all decided the best option would be for Higuchi to end his career and retire.
Higuchi will have his retirement ceremony at the DDT Pro Korakuen Hall event on April 5th in Tokyo.
Higuchi has been with DDT Pro-Wrestling since 2014 and has held numerous championships with the promotion. He is a two-time KO-D Openweight Champion which is DDT Pro’s top championship. In addition, Higuchi is a former four-time KO-D Tag Team Champion and four-time KO-D Six Man Tag Team Champion.
