March 3rd 2026 marked 10 years since the passing of the legendary Eiji Ezaki, the man who captivated the hearts of fans all over the world as Hayabusa throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s.
On April 27, 2025 a new Hayabusa debuted for Pro Wrestling ZERO1 at freelance event “Lucha Fiesta Especial” taking on Masato Tanaka in the semi main event of the evening. Hayabusa walked out victorious against Tanaka, defeating the FMW legend in just over 10 minutes after hitting a Firebird Splash off the top rope.
Hayabusa spent the rest of year making his presence felt in his new home, Pro Wrestling ZERO1, winning the 2025 Fire Festival against Chris Vice as well as defeating Masato Tanaka once again, this time in a Mask vs Career match.
ZERO1 took to social media to issue a statement from the new Hayabusa, who had a heartfelt message to share on his first March 3rd since donning the mask:
“Today marks my first March 3rd since stepping into the ring as ‘Hayabusa’. And it’s been exactly ten years since that day. The back of my predecessor was too great. I’ve inherited his spirit and now stand in the ZERO1 ring. The pressure of being ‘Hayabusa’—before my debut, now, and surely into the future—will only grow. But the spirit of the phoenix, rising again and again despite wounded wings, is the path I must follow. Though presumptuous, I will weave the story of ‘Hayabusa’ ahead with all my strength. Watch over me from heaven. The fun is just beginning!”
