Massive Tag Team Bout Headlined MARIGOLD NEW YEAR GOLDEN GARDEN 2026

Marigold returned to Korakuen Hall on Jan. 12th as the promotion presented its NEW YEAR GOLDEN GARDEN 2026 event. There were 705 fans on hand at the famed venue to witness the latest Marigold event.

The featured match was a massive tag team bout as the Marigold World Champion Miku Aono joined forces with Utami Hayashishita as they faced the tandem of GHC Women’s Champion and Marigold Superfly Champion Mayu Iwatani & Marigold United National Titleholder Victoria Yuzuki.

As expected the four superstars put on an in-ring clinic in a highly entertaining match. The bout had a thirty minute time limit and very nearly went the distance.

After twenty eight minutes & twenty four seconds, Hayashishita pinned Iwatani after hitting her Crusade of Hayashishita to secure the victory for her and Aono.

Following the match, Hayashishita challenged Iwatani for her GHC Women’s Championship. Iwatani said it’s up to the GHC Executive Committee who her next challenger will be. Hayashishita said she will appeal her case directly to the GHC Executive Committee.

Iwatani wasn’t the only champion to have a challenge issued to her. One half of the Marigold Twin Star Champions CHIAKI appeared with her attention directed at Marigold World Champion Miku Aono.

CHIAKI challenged Aono for her Red Belt as the two had an in-ring verbal exchange.

From CHIAKI:

Today, I’m making a love call to you, Miku Aono. Aono, I want… that crimson belt of yours. I have more than enough qualifications to challenge you, right? I’ll do whatever it takes to get it. Remember that!”

From Miku Aono:

“CHIAKI, this belt isn’t something a thug like you should be winning. This belt has prestige, and it’s a very, very high wall that you can’t reach. Look at the fans’ reaction, you understand, right? If we entrust this belt to a thug, Marigold will be in big trouble. So, please study and understand the value of this belt properly.”

• Nagisa Nozaki, Misa Matsui & CHIAKI defeated Natsumi Showzuki, Chika Goto & Syoko Koshino (14:07) after a Diving Footstomp from Matsui against Koshino.
• Marigold Ultimate Tag Team Battle: Miku Aono & Utami Hayashishita defeated Mayu Iwatani & Victoria Yuzuki (28:24) after the Crusade of Hayashishita against Iwatani.
