TJPW Announce Moka Miyamoto’s Retirement from Wrestling

By Noah Leatherland

TJPW have announced the retirement of Moka Miyamoto. Miyamoto’s last match was in July where she won the International Princess Championship.

TJPW broke the news on their website, stating:

Moka Miyamoto, who has been absent since July this year due to an illness requiring treatment, has requested to ‘draw a line under her activities as a pro-wrestler and pursue a new path’. Following extensive discussions, it has been decided that she will retire from pro-wrestling.

Furthermore, in accordance with her wishes, no retirement ceremony will be held.

We apologise for the sudden announcement and any concern or inconvenience this may cause our fans, and kindly ask for your understanding.

In the announcement, TJPW also shared a messaged that Miyamoto had for her fans:

It’s been a while. This is Moka Miyamoto.
I have decided to retire from my activities as a professional wrestler.
During my absence, taking time to reflect on myself led me to consider my future path, and I have chosen to draw a line under this chapter in this manner.
I have been able to continue this far thanks to everyone who has warmly supported me. Thank you so very much.
The days spent with Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling and the many encounters I had there are cherished memories for me.
I will now walk a new path, but I will never forget the support I have received until now.
Thank you all so very much for everything.

Miyamoto made her in-ring debut on July 23rd, 2020, teaming with Suzume against Mirai Maiumi and Sena Shiori. Almost 5 years to the day later, Miyamoto had her final match, defeating Suzume for the International Princess Championship.

A number of TJPW stars have shared their well-wishes on social media, including the following:

Suzume:

We’ve played so many crucial matches at all sorts of moments. Thank you so much. ❤️
