Q&A w/ Miria Kouga on SEAdLINNNG, Arisa Nakajima, H.A.T.E, Life + More!

By: Pep S. Caro

SEAdLINNNG is women’s professional wrestling organization based in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan and lead by Natsuki Taiyo and Arisa Nakajima. Their roster is full of young talent working hard to be the next female star from Japan. In 2025, SEAdLINNNG celebrated their 10th Anniversary show at Korakuen Hall and it featured a special match where their for full time roster members collided: Honori Hana, Miria Kouga, Yuki Funa, Selene Misora.

Before their final show of the year which will be held at Korakuen Hall on December 26, I was able to talk with Miria Kouga in what was her first interview with any international media outlet. Mirai was very kind to answer all the questions that covered a variety of topics.

Monthly Puroresu: This year you celebrated your first anniversary as a professional wrestler. Why did you decide to become a wrestler?

Miria Kouga: When I was in junior high school, there was a period where I couldn’t go to school, which coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was during that time that I saw a professional wrestler on TV and learned about women’s professional wrestling and female professional wrestlers for the first time.

From there, I started looking them up on YouTube, watching matches, and attending venues for shows.

I was so impressed that I decided I wanted to become a professional wrestler! That’s what I set out to do.

Monthly Puroresu: You represent SEAdLINNNG in Japan. Why did you decide to join this organization? How would you describe it to a fan outside of Japan who hasn’t seen SEAdLINNNG yet?

Miria Kouga: I was really impressed when I saw SEAdLINNNG at the venue. I really wanted to be a part of this organization, so I joined.

Currently, the organization only has young wrestlers, but their philosophy of soulful women’s professional wrestling remains true, and the participating and affiliated wrestlers fight with the same passion.

Just as I was inspired, I’m sure you’ll be shocked and inspired when you watch them at the venue or on the live stream.

Monthly Puroresu: Do you have any competitors you consider role models? Either for your professional wrestling style or for the moves you use?

Miria Kouga: It’s Syuri san. Watching Syuri san made me want to become a professional wrestler. I’m good at powerful strikes and throws!

Monthly Puroresu: You faced Chi Chi at SAREEE-ISM Chapter II. What are your thoughts on that game? What do you think of her as a competitor?

Miria Kouga: This was my first match since my debut against an opponent with a similar experience.

It was frustrating to see how even one year can make such a big difference.

Chi Chi san not only has incredible power in her techniques, but above all, she has a strong will! I think she is a wrestler with the determination and strength to never give up.

Monthly Puroresu: Later, you participated in one of Arisa Nakajima’s retirement matches at SEAdLINNNG. Along with Arisa, you faced Mima Shimoda and Yumiko Hotta. What are your thoughts on that game? What do you think of the participants in the match? What did competing in this match mean to you personally?

Miria Kouga: It was my first time facing legends like Hotta san and Shimoda san. And standing next to me was Arisa san, who would be retiring on that day.

I was filled with a lot of tension and pressure. But I had no choice but to go for it, and I was determined to show that I was ready to carry the name of SEAdLINNNG on my shoulders.

Of course, the wrestlers competing that day, as well as others, have been fighting in the SEAd ring for much longer than I have, so even though I was feeling anxious, it meant a lot to me that Hotta san told me, “Don’t worry. You can do it”.

And most of all, I was able to fight next to Arisa san, whom I have been accompanying as a second throughout her retirement road, for the last time. This match, this card, is an important one in my career as a wrestler, and it marked a major turning point.

Monthly Puroresu: In 2024, you participated in the Sendai Girls’ “Jaja Uma” tournament. You lost in the second round to YUNA. What are your thoughts on that game? What do you think of her as a competitor?

Miria Kouga: It was my first tournament since my debut.

I was seeded and started from the second round, and most importantly, it was my first time as a main event in another organization. I was nervous and filled with a variety of emotions. But since I was representing SEAd and in a main event in another organization, I fought with the determination to win and leave my mark, but I’ve still been bitter about letting YUNA san get her first win in SENJO.

I’ve fought YUNA san many times in singles matches before, and her dropkicks and joint strikes are all accurate and strong.

Monthly Puroresu: What did participating in the tournament that brings together young female wrestlers from Japan mean to you?

Miria Kouga: It was my first tournament, and everyone in the waiting room was my enemy, so I didn’t want to lose to anyone, and losing in the main event made me realize that I had to get even stronger. That experience means a lot to me now.

Monthly Puroresu: In March, you earned your rematch against YUNA and defeated her at SEAdLINNNG. What are your thoughts on that game?

Miria Kouga: I finally got a win in my fifth singles match.

I won with a German suplex that Arisa san taught me directly, and it was my first win just before my first anniversary since my debut.

I was so happy I couldn’t stop crying.

Monthly Puroresu: Around the middle of 2025, you began facing different members of H.A.T.E., a team from STARDOM. First, it was Rina and Konami in singles matches. What are your thoughts on that game? What do you think of them as competitors?

Miria Kouga: I was always annoyed at H.A.T.E. when I saw them making fun of SEAd, so all I wanted to do was fight them and beat them.

Rina san is not much older than me but she was still strong so it was frustrating.

Personally, Konami san is one of the people who got me into pro wrestling so I thought, “Oh yeah, this is it.” Rather than being happy, she was definitely my enemy.

I wanted to win at all costs.

Monthly Puroresu: Then, you faced Natsuko Tora in singles matches and BMI 2000 (a team of Tora and Ruaka) alongside Honori Hana. What are your thoughts on that game?? What do you think of them as competitors?

Miria Kouga: I was disappointed to get beaten badly by Natsuko Tora in a singles match.

I was really determined to team up with Honori Hana and fight, so I was disappointed to lose directly to her.

Monthly Puroresu: On SEAdLINNNG’s 10th anniversary, we saw a special match between the current roster members. Along with Yuki Fuuna, you defeated Honori Hana and Selene Misora. What are your thoughts on that game? What do you think of your teammates and rivals in SEAdLINNNG today?

Miria Kouga: I was so happy because a year ago I couldn’t have imagined that we’d be able to have a homegrown tag team match at SEAdLINNNG’s 10th anniversary match.

But I had more pride than anyone else in fighting with SEAd on my shoulders, and I was fired up not to lose that match. So although I’m very happy that we won, I don’t want to be satisfied with this, I want to go even further and continue to stand out. I’m determined that I will never lose to the three of them in the future.

They’re both friends and rivals, and we practice together every day.

Monthly Puroresu: In September, you faced SPARK RUSH (SAREEE and Takumi Iroha) alongside NØRI. It was a very special match because at the time, SPARK RUSH held several prestigious belts. What are your thoughts on that game? What do you think of them as competitors?

Miria Kouga: I was really happy to be able to face the two of them here, and the match against Spark Rush was such a rare opportunity I couldn’t miss it; I absolutely had to beat them.

Although I lost, I got to experience firsthand just how strong they both are.

Takumi san uses the same kick, and her power and strength were incredible, while Sareee san’s precise strength meant she could send someone flying with a single drop kick.

It made me realize once again that I need to hone my skills even more and get stronger.

Monthly Puroresu: You are currently competing in the 2025 edition of the Sendai Girls’ “Jaja Uma” tournament. You defeated STARDOM’s Rian in the second round. What are your thoughts on that game?  What do you think of her as a competitor?

Miria Kouga: I had a very disappointing experience at last year’s JaJaUma, so I’ve used that disappointment as motivation to get this far.

That’s why I absolutely couldn’t afford to lose in the second round.

I’ve never played against Rian, even though we’re in the same year.

She appeared in JaJaUma last year, so I watched the match, but because we’re in the same year, I was conscious of her.

I was happy to win, but I can’t be satisfied by any means, and I want to play with Rian again, many times.

Monthly Puroresu: In the semifinals of the “Haha Uma” tournament, you faced Spike Nishimura. What do you think of her as a competitor?

Miria Kouga: In the semi-finals it was a Spike.

I lost and there were no words to describe it other than disappointment.

Especially since I’m also a kicker and competed last year.

Like Rian, I was conscious of that as well, so it’s disappointing that I missed out on advancing to the finals.

I know I just have to keep working hard.

Monthly Puroresu: We want to know a little more about Miria. Could you please tell us about your hobbies?

Miria Kouga: My hobbies are video editing, eating out, and listening to music. I love eating with cats, so I often go to cat cafes!

Monthly Puroresu: When you’re not in a match or a professional wrestling show, what’s a typical day in your life like?

Miria Kouga: On days when I have practice, I cook meals and clean the house before practice.

On my days off, I often spend my time watching dramas or pro wrestling on my phone!

Monthly Puroresu: Thank you for participating in this interview. Finally, do you have any message for your fans and the SEAdLINNNG fans around the world?

Miria Kouga: Thank you for your continued support.

I always want to spread SEAdLINNNG even more, and I hope you will come to the venue to see SEAdLINNNG’s passionate battles.

I will also become stronger and then take the belt. I will become the top, the ace of SEAd.

Don’t take your eyes off me! Thank you!
