Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara Win The 15th Goddesses OF STARDOM Tag League Tournament

The 15th Goddesses of STARDOM Tag League has come to its conclusion and it was the current New Blood Tag Team Champions Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara who emerged victorious, earning the tournament champion rings.

It wasn’t easy for the Cosmic Angels duo as they had to defeat two powerhouse teams on their way to victory.

In the semifinal bout, Sakura & Kurara faced the MEGA SKYSCRAPERS tandem of Megan Bayne & HANAKO. Bayne & HANAKO defeated Sakura & Kurara in a Block A bout back on Nov. 8th and seemingly held a mental and physical advantage over Sakurara. But the outcome of the semifinal bout was different as Sakura & Kurara would not be denied.

It was a Sakuracchi by Sakura against HANAKO that ended the match at the 10:55 mark that sent the New Blood Tag Team Champs into the finals. They soon found out that their opponents in the championship bout of the tournament would be the current Goddesses of STARDOM champions Natsuko Tora & Ruaka which set up a Cosmic Angels vs. H.A.T.E. showdown.

Sakura & Kurara once again headed into the match as the clear underdogs and many fans expected Tora & Ruaka to emerge victorious but Sakurara had other plans. The final match of the tournament lasted 17;29 and it was Sakura & Kurara who proved to the sold out crowd at the Hamamatsu City General Industrial Exhibition Hall that they were the best team of the 15th Goddesses of STARDOM Tag League.

Aya Sakura & Sayaka Kurara were presented with their champion rings and have earned the right to challenge Tora & Ruaka for the Goddesses of STARDOM titles.

The Cosmic Angels duo and had these comments following their huge tournament victory:

From Aya Sakura:

“We, Sakurara, will become the first ever NEW BLOOD Tag-Goddess Tag champions!”

From Sayaka Kurara:

“I think that right now, STARDOM is being illuminated by the dark light of H.A.T.E. That is incredibly frustrating, but now that we’ve reached the top of the tag league, with our own power, and Sakurara’s light, we’ll shine even brighter on STARDOM!”
