Miku Aono Reveals She Gets Frustrated When Marigold Is Compared To STARDOM, Sets Goal To Make Marigold Bigger

On Oct. 26th, Marigold will be holding its biggest event to date, GRAND DESTINY 2025, at Ryogoku Kokugikan.

One of the marquee bouts set for the big event will see the Marigold World Champion Utami Hayashishita defend her title against the DREAM★STAR GP 2025 tournament winner Miku Aono.

Ahead of her Marigold World Title opportunity, Aono spoke with Tokyo Sports as she participated in a waterfall ritual (takigyō) at Kuzuryu Falls in Hinohara Village, Tokyo in preparation for the world championship match.

From Miku Aono:

“This title match is a huge challenge for me. I wanted to draw on something beyond just my own strength, which is why I came to perform takigyō. Even while being hit by the waterfall, I was only thinking about the belt, which increased my concentration. The Miku Aono who is now fiercely, passionately burning after being hit by the cold waterfall will wear the World Championship belt.”

In addition, Aono stated that her top goal is to make Marigold bigger. She revealed that she feels frustrated when Marigold gets compared to STARDOM.

From Miku Aono:

“My number one goal right now is to have more people know about Marigold. I have also felt frustrated when we were compared to the other promotion (STARDOM) founded by Rossy. I believe there’s a unique landscape I can show precisely because I didn’t come from there. I want to make Marigold bigger.”

Aono is considered to be one of the top stars for Marigold. She is a former Marigold United National Champion in addition to winning the DREAM★STAR GP 2025 tournament.

If Aono is looking to make Marigold bigger, winning the Marigold World Title and becoming the face of the promotion would be a great start for her as she strives to accomplish her goal.

We will find out in a few days if Miku Aono will begin representing Marigold as its World Champion.

Marigold GRAND DESTINY 2025 will be available for purchase on Wrestle Universe PPV on Oct. 26th.
