Hazuki Becomes Double Champion at STARDOM in Korakuen Hall

By: Noah Leatherland

STARDOM has another double-champion in their ranks coming off another exciting night in Korakuen Hall. After Saya Kamitani recently added a second belt to her waist, Hazuki has joined in her in the belt collecting trend.

Hazuki entered the show as the reigning world champion of SPARK Joshi, an American independent promotion that has hosted all manner of joshi talent. Hazuki has been the SPARK Joshi World Champion since April, having defeated Lena Kross to claim the vacant belt in Las Vegas. Despite being a relatively small promotion, Hazuki has proudly carried their belt with her on STARDOM shows. But stepping into Korakuen Hall, Hazuki had another prize in her sights.

The CMLL Japan Women’s Championship has a strange history. It was founded back in 1999 as CMLL looked to promote shows in Japan, before quietly being deactivated in 2001. CMLL then revived the belt in 2020 with renewed Japanese partnerships. Koguma defeated Dark Silueta for the title last month, with her first defence coming against her tag team partner, Hazuki.

Just one night ago, Koguma and Hazuki had wrestled as a team in Marvelous. They are also the number one contenders to the Sendai Girls’ tag team championships. The partners tested each other for over 20 minutes in Korakuen Hall. However, Hazuki would get the better of Koguma, getting the pinfall and adding the CMLL Japan Women’s Championship to her collection of hardware.

Other events with championship implications happened on this STARDOM show. As Starlight Kid celebrated her 10th wrestling anniversary, Konami confronted her after her match. The challenge was laid out for Starlight Kid’s Wonder of STARDOM Championship at next month’s CRIMSON NIGHTMARE show. Elsewhere, Waka Tsukiyama earned a shot at the High Speed Championship after getting a shock pinfall on Mei Seira in under one minute. In the main event, Natsuko Tora and Ruaka retained the Goddesses of STARDOM titles against Ami Sohrei and Lady C. Following the match, Rina Yamashita and Itsuki Aoki made themselves known as the next challengers.
