Dragon Gate’s The Gate of Victory 2025 tour continued with a big event at the famed Korakuen Hall on October 8th.
The event featured a Open The Dream Gate Championship bout as the current titleholder Madoka Kikuta defended his belt against the challenge of Ben-K. This was Kikuta’s first defense of his second reign of the championship he regained on August 17th from Shun Skywalker.
Ben-K was attempting to win the Open The Dream Gate Championship for the third time in career but came up short as he fell in defeat to Kikuta. Ben-K very nearly pulled out the victory in the highly competitive encounter but it was a Rolling Lariat from Kikuta that ended the match at the 23:50 mark of the match.
Ben-K took to social media following his loss to Kikuta and shared these words.
From Ben-K:
Every single blow felt heavy as hell. I kept trash-talking “Die, Kikuta!” But I ended up losing like a total loser. Sorry. I’ve heard that knowing defeat makes you stronger. I’ll get back up again and again. Like a zombie. Thanks for the passionate cheers. #DRAGONGATE (Translated by Deepl.com)
In the co-featured bout, the Open The Triangle Gate Champions KAI, ISHIN & Yoshiki Kato successfully defended their titles against Shun Skywalker, Homare & Kazuma Kimura.
