Masa Kitamiya Wins Pro Wrestling NOAH N-1 VICTORY, Challenges KENTA October 11th

By: Noah Leatherland

The finals of the Pro Wrestling NOAH N-1 VICTORY tournament have been decided. Masa Kitamiya has emerged as the winner of the tournament and is set to challenge KENTA for the GHC Heavyweight Championship.

KENTA kicked off the show in Korakuen Hall, winning the eight-man tag match made up of the other participants in the N-1 VICTORY tournament. He teamed with Manabu Soya, Tetsuya Endo and Ulka Sasaki to defeat Daiki Inaba, Ricky Knight Jr., Galeno and KENOH. Then, his attention would have been firmly fixed on the main event to see who his next challenger would be.

After around 23 minutes of action in the main event, Masa Kitamiya vanquished Jack Morris to become the winner of the N-1 VICTORY 2025. This is Kitamiya’s first N-1 win, having only ever reached the semi-finals in the past. Kitamiya has also never held the GHC Heavyweight Championship. He has challenged for the belt 8 times since 2016. His most recent challenge was a losing effort to OZAWA back in March of this year. Kitamiya is set to challenge KENTA at WRESTLE ODYSSEY on October 11th at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.

Despite a losing effort, Jack Morris still has some potential fortune in his near future. After the main event, Morris’s post-match comments were interrupted by Galeno. The two had wrestled to a draw during block action in the N-1, before Morris defeated Galeno in an impromptu tie-breaker. Galeno laid out the challenge for his GHC National Championship, which Morris happily agreed to. They will face off with the championship on the line in Nagoya on October 4th.
