On Sept. 28th at DESTRUCTION in KOBE, the current IWGP Tag Team Champions Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii are scheduled to defend their titles against the newest tag team within New Japan Pro-Wrestling, OSKAR & Yuto-Ice A.K.A. The Knockout Brothers.
The Knockout Brothers didn’t want to wait until Sept. 28th and opted to send a message to Taichi & Ishii on Sept. 21st before the NJPW BATTLE LINE HOKKAIDO Road to DESTRUCTION event got underway.
Taichi was participating in a pre-show autograph session when OSKAR & Yut0-Ice appeared and disrupted the meet and greet.

Taichi’s partner Tomohiro Ishii was not at the autograph session which gave OSKAR and Yuto-Ice a two on one advantage for the young duo. The Knockout Brothers proceeded to attack Taichi as OSKAR locked on a chokehold while Yuto-Ice looked on in satisfaction. With the odds proving to be too much for Taichi, he succumbed to the attack.

OSKAR & Yuto-Ice made their return to NJPW from excursion back on Aug. 17, 2025 at the G1 Climax 35 Final event and it was revealed they had joined Bullet Club War Dogs. The two had teamed together while on excursion as Young Blood. OSKAR and Yuto-Ice changed their name to The Knockout Brothers upon their return to NJPW.
Taichi & Tomohiro Ishii won the IWGP Tag Team Titles back on June 15th from Callum Newman & Great-O-Khan. Their defense at DESTRUCTION in KOBE against OSKAR & Yuto-Ice will be the first of their reign.
While OSKAR and Yuto-Ice are looking to making a name for themselves within the ranks of NJPW, they have most definitely lit a fuse inside Taichi who, with Ishii, will be out to punish them when they meet on Sept. 28th in Kobe. The veteran team of Taichi & Ishii will be looking to teach the young upstarts the meaning of respect.
