Miu Watanabe Regains The TJPW Princess of Princess Championship At Wrestle Princess 2025, First Challenger Emerges

By: Lewis Carlan

Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling held its Wrestle Princess 2025 at Ota City General Gymnasium with 1,127 fans in attendance for the event.

The main event featured a showdown between the Princess of Princess Champion Mizuki facing the challenge of the Tokyo Princess Cup 2025 winner and former champion Miu Watanabe. Mizuki defeated Watanabe on Jan. 4th 2025 to end her nearly one year reign as champion.

This was Mizuki’s 4th defense of her second reign as the Princess of Princess Champion. In a match that lasted nearly 23 minutes and being praised as a MOTY candidate by many fans, Watanabe gained a measure of redemption as she defeated Mizuki to regain the coveted Princess of Princess Champion. It took a spinning Tear Drop, which is a new version of her patented Tear Drop finisher, to put Mizuki away and earn Watanabe her second reign as the top champion within TJPW.

Watanabe expressed immense joy and happiness when she was handed the Princess of Princess Championship for the her second time in her career. She exhibited a sense of self satisfaction and redemption when the title was placed into her hands by the referee.

Watanabe found out almost immediately who her first challenger will be as Yuki Aino appeared and entered the ring to confront the newly crowned champion. Aino challenged Watanabe for the Princess of Princess Title, a challenge that was quickly accepted by Watanabe. The two will meet on October 18th at TJPW Additional Attack ’25 on October 18th with Korakuen Hall being the venue for this title match-up.

From Miu Watanabe:

“I truly believe that Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling is something so wonderful that it can become the world’s greatest theme park, the world’s greatest dreamland. I will put my life on the line to make Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling everyone’s number one in the world. I’ll do my best.”
