Sendai Girls announced earlier this year that Miyuki Takase and Yuu would be joining officially their roster after competing for many years in the promotion as freelancers. Miyuki as a freelancer has won Championships in many promotions including overseas.
Miyuki will be celebrating her Anniversary Show in September and Monthly Puroresu was able to speak with her exclusively. Miyuki answered several questions about the most recent year of her career, including her present in Sendai Girls, her teams with Mika Iwata and with Haruka Umesaki, competing in NOAH, portraying Queen of Hearts at SUKEBAN, and more.

Pep: This year marks your 8th anniversary and you’ve experienced many important milestones in your career. You’re now officially part of Sendai Girls. What does being part of the roster mean to you? What are your expectations for this new stage of your career?
Miyuki: The three years I spent working as a freelancer were also important times for me. I took responsibility for my own life. With no staff to rely on, I handled everything myself, including negotiations, travel, and troubleshooting, and I learned and considered many things, even starting new promotions.
And now, I’ve joined Sendai Girls. I joined because Sendai Girls had what I needed for the future. They had technique, power, ambition, and many other things. But the main reason I joined was because I had fallen in love with Sendai Girls. The players, staff, and supporting fans. I wanted to move forward into the future together with all of you.
Above all, I strongly felt that I wanted to help grow Sendai Girls, led by Meiko Satomura, who is the most professional to me and whom I respect, even bigger and make it the best organization in Japan! I want Sendai Girls to reach the world!

Pep: During last year’s interview, you mentioned that one of your main goals was to win a tag team belt alongside Mika Iwata. Together, you form RED ENERGY and won the Sendai Girls tag team belts. What did winning the belts mean to you? Which do you consider your favorite defense during your reign as champions?
Miyuki: Holding the belt with Iwata-san should have been a very happy thing, but the moment I held it I wasn’t happy at all. That’s because as a champion holding the title we weren’t perfect yet. I was sad, angry, and filled with frustration. I’m sure the fans felt the same way.
So, I thought I’d rekindle the energy of this belt with “Red Energy”. In a way, I think it was a way of holding the belt that was typical of us.
I don’t have a favorite defense. I’m not satisfied yet, because we don’t have the belts in our hands right now. When we have the tag belts again, have fought all the tag teams, and we are satisfied with ourselves, then might be the first time I think of a favorite defense.
Pep: Unfortunately, you lost the Championships to TEAM 200 kg (Chihiro Hashimoto and Yuu). How did that match feel? What are your impressions of Hashimoto and Yuu as competitors?
Miyuki: Team 200kg is going strong right now. With Yuu’s retirement looming, they’re accelerating and becoming even more energetic. Body size equals power. It’s a lethal weapon. In martial arts, there are weight classes. That doesn’t exist in professional wrestling. It’s dangerous, but that’s what makes it interesting. Professional wrestling is the only sport where you can challenge these giant creatures. The words “biggest!” and “strongest!” suit these two. I’d love to beat them before Yuu retires.

Pep: You’re spending more time with Mika Iwata now, as you’re both members of Sendai Girls. How would you describe your relationship now?
Miyuki: I think our bond is deepening every day. Iwata-san and I have many similarities in our personalities, so it’s a lot of fun being together, and she’s the perfect partner who cheers me up when I’m worried.
Pep: But another person you’re teaming up with again is Haruka Umesaki. Together you form Luminous and are active in DIANA. How would you describe your relationship currently? What are your goals as a team?
Miyuki: Luminous with Haruka Umesaki is also an important tag team. We formed the team when we were rookies, in our first and third years, respectively. Looking around, we were all seniors. We won the tag belts early in a tough and tough world. That’s why we also went through some really tough and painful experiences. We overcame those hardships together, supported each other, and grew stronger. Chochotan (Umesaki) is like family to me. Currently, our activities with Luminous are decreasing, and we were supposed to have a match as Luminous overseas last year, but it didn’t happen, so I hope to make it happen someday.
Pep: Returning to Sendai Girls, on August 24th will present SENJO THE BIGGEST. You will be in a 4-on-4 match. You will team with Senjo Great Kannon, Shin Sakura Hirota, and Soy to face Kuroshio TOKYO Japan, Raideen Hagane, Kurumi Hiiragi, and Yura Suzuki. What are your expectations for this match? Who do you think is your toughest opponent?
Miyuki: There are so many mysteries surrounding this match! It’s hard to choose between the elusive Kuroshio TOKYO Japan, the big Rydeen Hagane, and Hiiragi Kurumi. But even more than that, Senjo Great Kannon is so mysterious… is he really on our side?

Pep: On September 27th, you will hold your anniversary show in Osaka. We don’t know the card yet, but it will be one of the most anticipated events for fans in the Kansai region. What can you tell us about what you have planned for this event?
Miyuki: Half of the participating players have now been announced, with 11! There are still more players who will surprise you! Stay tuned!
Pep: In January, you lost the DPW Women’s Championship to Dani Luna in the US. How did that match leave you? What are your impressions of Luna as a competitor?
Miyuki: I’ve had two title matches with Dani Luna, but lost the second time. She’s a powerful wrestler with original techniques and moves, making her a very attractive competitor! I respect her as a wrestler, and matches with her are very exciting, so I’d love to fight her again!
Pep: In April, you competed in DPW’s tour of Japan. How do you feel about competing for a company in different countries? How did the matches make you feel?
Miyuki: I’m very happy that DPW has come to Japan. Fan reactions and preferences vary from country to country, so it’s interesting to see how the same promotion can have completely different atmospheres! I also hope that Japanese fans will get to know more about the fascinating international wrestlers who compete in DPW.
Pep: But this summer, you also returned to the United States to bring QUEEN OF HEARTS to life at SUKEBAN at a show in Los Angeles. How did you feel about participating in the event at an anime convention? How would you describe the difference between your work at SENJO and what you do at SUKEBAN?
Miyuki: SUKEBAN is a completely different worldview. Because it’s a character, Miyaki Takase isn’t there, and there’s no Miyuki Takase wrestling. Even if it were to be held in Japan, it would be something completely different. However, I also love anime, so I really enjoyed the opportunity to experience Japanese anime during the convention overseas!

Pep: You’ve also been competing regularly in NOAH. First, in the match to crown the first GHC Women’s Champion. How would you describe your experience in NOAH? Are you still focused on winning the GHC belt currently held by Takumi Iroha?
Miyuki: When I first competed, I was very nervous about whether people would accept women’s professional wrestling. But now, more and more people are cheering me on, yelling “Takase!” and it makes me really happy!
Of course I’m interested in GHC, but right now, I’m more interested in Sakuya! I need to bring down the hammer on that evil woman who’s turning my face green.
Pep: At Monday Magic, you teamed with Miku Aono and Megaton of MARIGOLD to face Great Sakuya, and Iroha and Sora Ayame of MARVELOUS. How did that match make you feel? You know Miku from your days of AWG, would you like to face Aono in a singles match?
Miyuki: I’m grateful now because this fight was the catalyst that brought Iwata-san to the team.
Miku Aono, well, maybe it would be good to have a singles match with Miku Aono again after a long time. I didn’t get the impression that she had changed much. If we faced each other in a singles match, I might be able to feel the changes firsthand.
Pep: At WRESTLE MAGIC 2025, alongside Iwata, you faced Great Sakuya and Johnnie Robbie. How did that match feel? What are your impressions of your opponents?
Miyuki: It was really a MONDAY MAGIC. It was amazing to be able to stand in the ring with Iwata-san!!
And Johnnie is super cool. Her movements are light and her techniques are sharp. And, as I’ve said many times before, I want to beat Sakuya!!

Pep: Last year, you competed at EVE in the UK and lost to Alex Windsor. How did that match feel? What are your impressions of Windsor as a competitor? Is there any other country that you want to visit?
Miyuki: (Alex) Windsor had incredible spirit! Many foreign fighters get weaker when I chop them with all my might. Windsor is the complete opposite. She hits back twice as hard. And I love fighters like that! I’d love to play against her again someday.
There are so many countries I’d like to visit! Germany, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan… it’s too many to choose (laughs).
Pep: Last time, you mentioned winning a belt with Iwata, and it happened. What goals do you have for your next year as a professional wrestler?
Miyuki: The biggest event in my ninth year as a professional wrestler was definitely joining the Sendai Girls. So, I want to aim to be at the center of the Sendai Girls. Of course, I’m aiming for the tag title with Red Energy, but I’m also aiming for the single belt!
Pep: Thank you for participating in this interview. Do you have a message for your fans around the world?
Miyuki: Thank you for reading my interview! Takase Miyuki is still developing. I will continue to evolve! Keep an eye on the many pro wrestling news sources around me, including Iwata-san, Haruka Umesaki, and about Sendai Girls. I’m sure they will fascinate and captivate you. One of my dreams is to meet all of you one day and laugh together.
Please continue to support me!
