TOKYO – Victoria Yuzuki pulled off a big victory over rival Seri Yamaoka in the main event of Marigold’s Dream Star Grand Prix show on August 10, defeating the rising star with her Rolling Arrow finisher after 14 minutes and 6 seconds of intense action. The victory vaulted Yuzuki to the top of the Dream League standings with 6 points, while the loss dropped Yamaoka to 4 points in a tie for second place.
The match showcased two of wrestling’s most promising young talents, with fans increasingly rallying behind both competitors as breakout stars of the tournament. Yuzuki’s win demonstrated the unpredictable nature of the round-robin format, where any competitor can emerge victorious on any given night.
Earlier in the evening, Misa Matsui maintained her lead in the Star League, using Mai Sakurai’s power against her with a reversal into a European Clutch, securing the win via European Clutch at 11:10. The victory improved Matsui’s record to 6 points, keeping her atop the Star League standings ahead of a three-way tie at 4 points between Chanyota, Sakurai, and Nagisa Nozaki.
The night also featured Mayu Iwatani bouncing back from recent struggles with a dominant performance against Rea Seto, earning her 2 more tournament points with a Nagayo-style German Suplex hold in just over seven minutes. In other Dream League action, Nagisa Nozaki defeated Chanyota with her signature Dorumiru finishing move.
The undercard saw strong performances across multiple tag team and multi-person contests. Nao Ishikawa and Hummingbird opened the show with a victory over Nagisa Tachibana and Yuuka Yamazaki, while MIRAI captured a three-way match against CHIAKI and Megaton with a modified camel clutch. The evening’s longest contest featured an eight-person tag match that went nearly 17 minutes, with Miku Aono’s team emerging victorious after Kouki Amarei hit the Amethyst Butterfly.
