We are a less than a day away from New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Dominion at Osaka Jo Hall with a huge crowd expected to be in attendance.
The main event of NJPW Dominion is a very highly anticipated encounter as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Hirooki Goto defends his title for the seventh time against the challenge of former champion Shingo Takagi. Takagi held the belt from June 2021 through Jan. 2022 and would like nothing more than to regain the championship.
A press conference was held today as each combatant gave their final statements before they step into the ring against each other at Dominion.
Takagi said while he is looking forward to facing the champion, he vowed to put an end to the Goto Revolution.
From Shingo Takagi:
“My time to talk has come. I’m looking forward to facing this great champion. I know he’s at the top. But I think you’ve done enough already. “I don’t have a wife, a kid, a belt, or a faction. Tomorrow, the Goto revolution ends. That’s all I have to say.”
Naturally, Goto disagreed and stated he has more left to accomplish and doesn’t plan on ending the Goto Revolution.
From Hirooki Goto:
“There are still others I need to beat, so I don’t plan on ending the Goto revolution here. We’re both veterans now. Without a faction, you would fit right in with Hontai. Tomorrow will be a fierce New Japan-style match.”
Takagi stated that despite winning the IWGP World Heavyweight Title in 2021, it didn’t feel complete due to Covid and called Dominion his second chance.
From Shingo Takagi:
“I want revenge for what happened four years ago. Even though I became champion back then, with the pandemic still ongoing, it didn’t feel complete. This might be my second chance.”
