The Pro Wrestling WAVE “Catch The Wave 2025” tournament kicked off back on May 4th at Korakuen Hall and is set to run through July 21st.

Catch the Wave 2025 is the biggest version of the annual tournament to date with thirty-six competitors broken down into nine blocks. The point system is as follows, a tournament win is worth 3 points, a loss is 0 points and any draw is earns 2 points for participants with shorter careers and 1 point for competitors who have been pro-wrestlers for a longer amount of time.

The nine winners of each block will participate in one of three triple threat matches on July 13th. The three winners on July 13th will compete in one final three way match on July 21st to determine the winner of Catch the Wave 2025.  The Catch the Wave 2025 winner will receive a prize of one million yen.

STARDOM superstar Hazuki is a participant in this years competition and is placed in the Mercury Block. On June 1st, Hazuki had her first tournament match as she faced Nanami Hatano in block action.

Hazuki was able to defeat Natano to earn her first 3 points of the tournament. Following her win, Hazuki gave post-match backstage comments. Hazuki indicated that facing wrestlers from other promotions will enable her to take in things she wouldn’t be able to at STARDOM.

From Hazuki:

“This is my first time facing Nanami, and I think this might be my first time participating in a league tournament for another promotion. I think I’ll get to face all kinds of people from other promotions and I believe I’ll be able to absorb things that I wouldn’t be able to at STARDOM. First of all, I want to win this league and get that 1 million yen! Money-hungry Hazuki wants to win. As for what happens after that, who knows.”

The next Pro Wrestling WAVE “Catch the Wave 2025” event is scheduled for June 7th in Kanagawa. Hazuki’s next tournament match will be June 15th in Tokyo as she faces Rina Amikura in Mercury Block action.
