The BOSJ Finals Replace the IWGP World Title for NJPW Dominion’s Main Event Slot

In one historic occurrence, the BOSJ Finals will practically replace the IWGP World Title and main event New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Osaka Jo-Hall spectacle. Dominion’s focal point will be the Junior Heavyweight division which, compared to the main event scene, is building a new generation of Junior wrestlers that constantly get the crowd on their feet, commanded by the names of Hiromu Takahashi, El Desperado, and even some known faces that have decided to return like KUSHIDA. This decision sparked some controversy among New Japan fans because the last time the IWGP World Title was not the main event of a show was the infamous fan vote that declared Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Shinsuke Nakamura was going to main event Wrestle Kingdom.

The decision to replace the IWGP World Title match between Jon Moxley and EVIL was something that caught the attention of many fans because New Japan’s philosophy always puts the biggest prize in the company over everything and anyone. It speaks a lot about NJPW’s current issues that the BOSJ Finals are the only exception to said philosophy in over 10 years. We don’t know who will main event Dominion now because the BOSJ is still underway and eight shows are coming to define who will arrive at Osaka-Jo Hall. Whoever is a finalist in the BOSJ must be ready for the biggest match of his career.
